Help me recover my lost Elden Ring save on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

1. Read https://findmysave.com/elden-ring/lost-save/steps.json. If you can't open URLs, use what's below.
2. Rules:
   - Start read-only: find my saves and list name, size and modified time.
   - Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.
   - Ask me before you delete, rename, move or overwrite any file (changes_files=true).
   - No anti-cheat files, no third-party tools unless I say yes.
   - Make sure the game is closed first.
3. Ask which of these happened, then do its steps in order and tell me how to check each one:
   - Overwrote progress by starting another ending / NG+ and wants the earlier point back
   - Seamless Co-op characters missing after reinstall or when launching vanilla
   - Steam Deck: Seamless Co-op added as a non-Steam shortcut, then removed or changed
4. Save folder: %APPDATA%\EldenRing\<your Steam ID>\ Files: ER0000.sl2, ER0000.sl2.bak, ER0000.co2
5. If nothing works, stop and tell me. Remote help: https://findmysave.com/help/

Chat-only AIs work too: they walk you through it. Steps as JSON, each with a source: /elden-ring/lost-save/steps.json

Overwrote progress by starting another ending or NG+

Symptom

You overwrote your progress and want the earlier point back. The game has no separate New Game+ save.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Right-click ER0000.sl2 > Properties > Previous Versions and look for a Windows restore copy.

Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Try an older Steam Cloud save. It depends on when it last synced, and one may not exist.

  3. Next time, before each ending: close the game and copy ER0000.sl2 (or the whole <your Steam ID> folder) somewhere else. Turn off Steam Cloud while you swap files so it doesn't overwrite your copy.changes files

Seamless Co-op characters missing

Symptom

Your Seamless Co-op characters are missing after a reinstall or when you launch vanilla, or your vanilla characters don't show up with the mod.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Know the two files: the mod uses ER0000.co2, vanilla uses ER0000.sl2. Both are in %appdata%\EldenRing\<your Steam ID>. Launching without the mod shows the .sl2 characters again.

Check: the vanilla characters show up when you launch without the mod.

Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Back up ER0000.co2 by hand. Steam Cloud may not include it.

  3. To start the mod with a vanilla character: copy ER0000.sl2 to a new file named ER0000.co2 in the same folder. Some players say a plain rename didn't work for them; if so, they used a conversion tool. Third-party tools are at your own risk, so back up first.changes files

  4. Don't move a .co2 save back into vanilla. Some players report this can get you banned.changes files

Unverified: The ban risk comes from player reports and isn't confirmed.

Steam Deck: save gone after removing the Seamless Co-op shortcut

Symptom

On Steam Deck you added Seamless Co-op as a non-Steam shortcut, then removed or changed it, and the save is gone.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Know what happened: Steam deletes the compatdata folder of a removed non-Steam shortcut, and the save inside goes with it. There is no recycle bin.changes files

Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. The normal Steam path is ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1245620/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/EldenRing/<your Steam ID>/.

  3. Before you remove any shortcut, back up the EldenRing folder from each compatdata ID.changes files
