About findmysave
findmysave is run by one person, Yao. It started from a simple annoyance: when a save goes missing, gets corrupted or is overwritten by the cloud, the answer is usually spread across a dozen forum threads that contradict each other and skip the most important step, which is making a backup first.
Each game gets one page that lists what can go wrong, in plain words, and each situation gets exact steps, the save location and a source.
How we check facts
- Save paths come from PCGamingWiki, official game FAQs and Steam's own documentation, linked on the page.
- Fix steps come from official guidance and from what players actually reported on Steam Community and Reddit. Anything only a few players mention, with nothing else backing it up, is marked "Unverified" or "Some players report".
- The date at the top of each page is when we last checked it. Game updates can change how saves work; if something is out of date, please email us.
How this site is written (and how we use AI)
We collect public sources by hand and with scripts, and turn them into facts and steps that each carry a source (every game's steps.json is published on its page). We then use AI (Anthropic's Claude) to rewrite those facts into readable English and Chinese, with two rules: no facts that aren't in the sources, and no change to the order of steps. Yao spot-checks pages before they go live. The "Copy prompt" text on each page is also ours, written so you can hand the job to your own AI assistant.
Disclaimer
- Only for your own saves. We don't offer save downloads, trainers or cracks, and nothing here touches online cheating or anti-cheat files.
- Back up the whole save folder before you change anything. We can't promise a save can be recovered.
- Third-party tools mentioned here aren't ours; use them at your own risk.
