Fix a corrupted Stardew Valley save

Help me fix a corrupted Stardew Valley save on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

1. Read https://findmysave.com/stardew-valley/corrupted-save/steps.json. If you can't open URLs, use what's below.
2. Rules:
   - Start read-only: find my saves and list name, size and modified time.
   - Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.
   - Ask me before you delete, rename, move or overwrite any file (changes_files=true).
   - No anti-cheat files, no third-party tools unless I say yes.
   - Make sure the game is closed first.
3. Ask which of these happened, then do its steps in order and tell me how to check each one:
   - The last night's save went wrong (crash during sleep, broken farm after saving)
   - Modded save will not load in vanilla
4. Save folder: %APPDATA%\StardewValley\Saves\  Files: <FarmName>_<ID> folder (e.g. JonSnow_123456789), <FarmName>_<ID> (no extension, XML), SaveGameInfo, <FarmName>_<ID>_old and SaveGameInfo_old, *_STARDEWVALLEYSAVETMP, save-backups folder (inside the game folder; created by SMAPI's bundled SaveBackup)

Last night's save went wrong

Symptom

The game crashed when you went to sleep, or the farm is broken after saving.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Back up the farm folder.

    Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Delete SaveGameInfo and FarmName_123456789.changes files

  3. Rename SaveGameInfo_old to SaveGameInfo, and FarmName_123456789_old to FarmName_123456789.changes files

    Check: the farm loads, one save back.

  4. iOS: delete YourName_123456789 and ..._SVEMERG, then rename ..._SVBAK to YourName_123456789.changes files

Modded save won't load in vanilla

Symptom

A modded save won't load in the vanilla game, or custom items turned into error items.

  1. Reinstall SMAPI and play one in-game day. SMAPI cleans custom content out of the save.

    Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Any custom items still in your inventory turn into blank error items. That is expected.

  3. Before moving a save to mobile, always remove the modded content first.
