Help me find my Monster Hunter Wilds save folder on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

1. Read https://findmysave.com/monster-hunter-wilds/save-location/steps.json. If you can't open URLs, use what's below.

   - Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.
   - Ask me before you delete, rename, move or overwrite any file (changes_files=true).
   - No anti-cheat files, no third-party tools unless I say yes.
   - Make sure the game is closed first.
3. Ask which of these happened, then do its steps in order and tell me how to check each one:
   - I can't find my Monster Hunter Wilds save folder
   - Cannot find the save folder
4. Save folder: <Steam folder>\userdata\<your Steam ID>\2246340\remote\win64_save Files: see steps.json

I can't find my Monster Hunter Wilds save folder

Symptom

You don't know where the game keeps its save files.

  1. Press Win+R, paste C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata and press Enter.

  2. Open the folder named with a number (for example 52345678). That's your Steam account ID. If there are several, open the most recently modified one.

  3. Open 2246340\remote\win64_save.

  4. Look inside the folder.

Check: You can see save files in it.

Can't find it?

If Windows can't find the folder, the game hasn't saved on this PC yet, or you play another version (Game Pass, Epic, Steam Deck). Check the other paths on this page.

The guide's save folder doesn't match mine

Symptom

You can't find the save folder. Some guides show the wrong app ID (for example 2246360) or the one from Monster Hunter: World (582010).

  1. Open your Steam install folder, then userdata.

  2. Open the folder named with your numeric Steam ID (usually the only one).

  3. Open 2246340 > remote > win64_save.

Check: You can see save files in it.

  4. The right app ID is 2246340. If you're not sure, look it up on SteamDB.

Other platforms

Steam
<Steam folder>\userdata\<your Steam ID>\2246340\remote\win64_save
Steam
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<your Steam ID>\2246340\remote\win64_save

Change the Steam part of the path if Steam is installed somewhere else. The folder is small, a few MB at most. One forum answer suggests backing up the whole 2246340 folder.
