Cloud save overwrote your It Takes Two progress

Help me sort out a Steam Cloud conflict with my It Takes Two save on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

   - Start read-only: find my saves and list name, size and modified time.
   - Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.
   - Ask me before you delete, rename, move or overwrite any file (changes_files=true).
   - No anti-cheat files, no third-party tools unless I say yes.
   - Make sure the game is closed first.
3. Check with me that this is what happened, then do its steps in order and tell me how to check each one:
   - After the May 2024 Steam update, progress from EA App cloud is gone and game starts new

EA App progress gone after the May 2024 Steam update

Symptom

Since the May 2024 update the Steam version uses Steam Cloud, and progress that only lived in the EA App cloud is gone. The game starts a new run.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Download the pre-made completed save from the link in EA's announcement. It does not restore your own progress. The file name SaveData.Nuts has not been independently confirmed.changes files

    Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Close the game, then copy the file to C:\Users\<your Windows user name>\AppData\Local\ItTakesTwo.

  3. Launch the game and use Chapter Select to continue from any chapter.

    Check: Chapter Select lets you pick any chapter.
