Recover lost or deleted It Takes Two progress

Help me recover my lost It Takes Two save on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

   - Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.

Reinstalled and the game starts from scratch

Symptom

You uninstalled to free up space, reinstalled, and the game began a new playthrough even though you expected your cloud save to come back.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Before you reinstall, open %LOCALAPPDATA%\ItTakesTwo and check whether save files are still there.

    Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Some players suggest overwriting your local save with a complete save to unlock Chapter Select. This replaces the files in that folder, so back it up first.changes files

Unverified: This comes from one player's report. Whether your cloud save should have come back is not confirmed.
