Help me find my Hollow Knight: Silksong save folder on this PC, following findmysave's steps.
1. Read https://findmysave.com/hollow-knight-silksong/save-location/steps.json. If you can't open URLs, use what's below.
2. Rules:
- Start read-only: find my saves and list name, size and modified time.
- Back up the whole save folder before changing anything.
- Ask me before you delete, rename, move or overwrite any file (changes_files=true).
- No anti-cheat files, no third-party tools unless I say yes.
- Make sure the game is closed first.
3. Ask which of these happened, then do its steps in order and tell me how to check each one:
- I can't find my Hollow Knight: Silksong save folder
- Cannot find the Silksong save folder (not in Documents or Saved Games)
4. Save folder: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight Silksong\ Files: user1.dat ... user4.dat, shared.dat, user#.dat.bak1, user#_1.0.12345.dat (version-suffixed), Restore_Points#/ (folders 1-4), restoreData#.dat / NODELrestoreData#.dat
5. If nothing works, stop and tell me. Remote help: https://findmysave.com/help/
I can't find my Hollow Knight: Silksong save folder
Symptom
You don't know where the game keeps its save files.
Press Win+R, paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight Silksong and press Enter.
Open the folder with the long number as its name. Each account has its own. If there are several, open the one modified most recently.
Look inside for user1.dat.
Check: You can see user1.dat. You're in the right place.
Can't find it?
If Windows says it can't find the folder, the game hasn't saved on this PC yet, or you play another version (Game Pass, Epic, Steam Deck). Check the other paths on this page.
Saves sit in a numeric subfolder, eight digits long. It's tied to your Steam account, so another account has a different number. One guide gives 881710160 as an example. Copies not from Steam may use a different number or default.
GOG (Windows)
same LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight Silksong\ location
Same LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight Silksong\ folder. Only a secondary blog says so, so check that it matches what you see.
Saves are scrambled containers inside folders with container in the name, not plain userX.dat files. They don't sync with your Steam save. To use one on Steam you have to rename the file by hand, or use the WGS Inspector tool. Third-party tools are at your own risk, so back up first.
