Back up and roll back Hollow Knight: Silksong saves

Help me back up or roll back my Hollow Knight: Silksong save on this PC, following findmysave's steps.

Restore from the game's own backup copy

Symptom

You want to roll a save profile back to an earlier point using the game's own backups.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

Easiest way, in the game: on the main menu, use the button under the save profile to open the Auto Saves menu, then pick the point you want. That profile goes back to that point, but the auto-save history is kept, so you can jump back and forth.changes files

Or use the files. Close the game and copy the whole Hollow Knight Silksong folder somewhere safe. Then replace user#.dat with the matching user#.dat.bak1, or copy a restoreData*.dat out of the Restore_Points# folder.
