Use a downloaded save, move progress, or share one PC

Symptom

You want to use a downloaded save, move your progress, or share one PC between two players.

Steps marked “changes files” delete, rename or overwrite something. Back up the whole save folder first.

  1. Exit the game and turn off Steam Cloud for it (in Properties).

    Not sure where the save folder is?

  2. Back up your own ArchiveSaveFile.*.sav and ShareArchiveSaveFile.sav.

  3. Copy the new .sav files into ...\b1\Saved\SaveGames\<your Steam ID>. Do not overwrite steam_autocloud.vdf.changes files

  4. Launch the game and pick the matching slot from Load Game. For two players on one PC, just start a new game slot instead of switching accounts.

    Check: The slot shows up in Load Game and loads.

Unverified: Some players report that renaming someone else's slot files to ArchiveSaveFile.<N>.sav in your own ID folder works. We haven't seen it tested more widely.
